Like Father, Like Son
Many Christians are fascinated with the power of God yet fail to walk in the character of God. Jesus said if you have seen me, you have seen the Father. In this teaching series, Pastor Star R. Scott challenges us to look at our character and ask, "Am I like my Father?"
Would you consider yourself a meek person? Many believe that meekness is weakness. However in God's kingdom, great men are meek men. Meekness is simply power under control. Are you an individual under the control of the Holy Spirit? In this episode of Sword of the Spirit, Pastor Star R. Scott explores practical aspects that help you identify meekness in your life.
Are you meek toward others? Are you meek toward those who sin against you? When others sin around us, we can be quick to condemn them. However, when a brother is overtaken in a fault, we must restore our brother in a spirit of meekness. Men will fail, but we must minister in meekness. In this episode of Sword of the Spirit, Pastor Star R. Scott concludes this teaching on meekness by challenging our response to those who sin against us or against the Lord.
Much of the professed church today boasts in power of God, yet too few walk in the character of God. Jesus prayed in John 17 that the church would be one just as the Father and the Son are one. Why? So the world would know that Jesus was sent of the Father. This evening, Pastor Star R. Scott challenges us with this question: Are we one with the Father? When the world sees us do they see the character of God?
Do we look like the Father? Are we confident in our spirituality? Today on the Sword of the Spirit Broadcast, Pastor Star R. Scott encourages us to check our hearts and ask ourselves this question: How caught up with the world are we? Jesus is coming back for a bride that is unspotted by this world.
Much of the professed church boasts in their knowledge, yet the Book of James exhorts us not to be hearers of the Word only, but doers of the Word. How much of the Word do you know? How much of the Word are you doing? Pastor Star R. Scott encourages us to step back and examine ourselves to see if we are doing what we know.
Today on the Sword of the Spirit Broadcast, Pastor Star R. Scott concludes the series of Like Father, Like Son by encouraging us to have a fervent love for the brethren. We must speak the truth to one another in love. We must be able to encourage one another with the need to be more holy in these last days. Are we being watchmen in this hour?
